Your information, in plain English.

We collect as little as we can, we never sell it, and we don't use it for advertising. This page explains what this website collects, why, who helps us run it, and what you can ask us to do.
Who we are
This website is run by Creative Service Limited, trading as Creative. Service. (“we”, “us”). We are responsible for the personal information it collects. For anything on this page, email nicktsolkas@creativeservice.info. Our registered office is 48 Whitehead Way, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire HP21 8LR.
Talking to The Custard
The Custard is an AI briefing assistant. When you type or talk to it, what you say is sent to an AI provider so it can reply: Anthropic (Claude) for typed chat and for reading files you share, and OpenAI for voice conversations. When you talk, your microphone audio goes straight from your browser to OpenAI for the length of the call; we don't record it.
We don't keep a copy of your conversation on our systems. We only record that a conversation happened (for example how many messages, which starter question you picked, the stage the brief reached and its title) so we can see how the site is used. Your conversation, your brief and any file summaries only reach our team if you choose to send your brief.
Under their business terms, Anthropic and OpenAI don't use what you send through our account to train their models by default, and they keep it only for a limited time for safety and abuse checks. Please don't share anything you aren't allowed to share, such as someone else's confidential information.
Files you share
If you share a file or link (an existing brief, brand guidelines or references), it is sent to Anthropic to be read and summarised. Large PDFs are turned into text in your browser first. We keep the summary with your brief; we don't store the original file.
Sending your brief
If you send your brief, we receive what you enter (such as your name, email, company and the brief itself, including the conversation and file summaries) and store it in our studio system so we can reply and, if you go ahead, run the project. We use it only to respond to you and work with you, never for unrelated marketing.
How we measure visits
We count visits ourselves, with no third-party analytics or advertising tools. We record the pages and sections you reach, buttons you press, your country and device type (worked out from your connection, not your exact location) and where you came from.
Until you say “That's fine”, nothing about this is stored on your device and each visit is counted on its own. If you agree, we keep a random ID in your browser so we can tell when you come back. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Keeping The Custard fair
To stop abuse and runaway costs, we turn your internet connection's address into a scrambled code that can't be turned back into the address, and use it to apply daily limits and, if needed, block misuse. We also note when The Custard is asked to do things that aren't creative work, without keeping what was said.
Feedback
If you send feedback, we keep your message, the page you were on and, only if you give it, your email address so we can reply.
Sending us files (Feed The Custard)
If you work with us, we may give you a personal drop link. When you use it we store your name, company and email (as we set them up), the files you send, your note and which job they belong to, so we can do the work. Files are stored privately and only our team can open them; anything that looks like a quote, order or invoice is kept to senior staff. We don't send these files to any AI provider.
Cookies and storage
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. This site stores only:
- your answer to the visit-counting notice, so we don't ask again (needed for the site to work);
- a random visitor ID and a visit ID, only if you say “That's fine”;
- a sign-in cookie for our own admin area, which only our team uses;
- if you use a drop link, a sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in to the drop page for 90 days.
Our fonts are served by Adobe Fonts, which receives the usual technical details any website gets when your browser asks for a file (such as your IP address) and counts page views for licensing. It doesn't set cookies.
Why we're allowed to use it
- Replying to you and working on your brief: because you asked us to, before any agreement is made.
- Counting visits, keeping The Custard fair and reading feedback: our legitimate interest in running a useful, safe website.
- Keeping a visitor ID on your device: your consent.
Who helps us run the site
- Vercel (hosting the website)
- Supabase (our database, hosted in Ireland and London)
- Anthropic (typed chat and reading files)
- OpenAI (voice conversations)
- Adobe (fonts)
Some of these companies are based in the United States, so your information may be processed there. When it is, it is protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep it
- Visit counts and AI usage records: up to 26 months, then deleted.
- Briefs that don't become a project, and feedback: up to 2 years, then deleted.
- Briefs that become a project: for as long as we work together, and then as long as the law requires us to keep business records.
- Files you send us: for as long as we work together on that job, and then as long as we need them for the work or the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, ask us to stop or limit using it, object to how we use it, or ask for a copy to take elsewhere. Email nicktsolkas@creativeservice.info and we'll reply within a month. If you're unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, though we'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.
Children
This website is for businesses and isn't aimed at children.
Changes
If we change how we use your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
